Terms of Service
Last updated 4 November 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and [registered company name] (RC [CAC number]), [registered address], for using wurinEvents. By creating an account or using the service, you accept them.
1. The service
wurinEvents lets organisers manage guest lists and invitations, collect replies, issue passes, assign gate staff, check guests in and produce reports.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.
- Give accurate details and use a phone number you control.
- Keep your password and recovery code safe. You are responsible for activity on your account unless the cause is our failure.
- If you use the service for a business or organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf.
3. Your guest list and your responsibilities
You control the information you enter, and you are the data controller for your guest list. You agree that you will:
- have a lawful basis for adding each person’s details;
- enter only what the event needs, and keep it accurate;
- respond to guests who ask to see, correct or remove their details;
- send invitations only to people you genuinely mean to invite; and
- choose gate staff carefully, because they can see guest details and hold a copy on their phones so scanning works offline.
How we handle this information is explained in our Privacy Policy. You keep ownership of your content and allow us to use it only to provide and support the service.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the service for an unlawful event or purpose;
- send spam or harass anybody;
- forge, copy or resell passes;
- upload content you have no right to use;
- try to reach another organiser’s data, bypass limits or security, or interfere with the service.
5. Plans and payment
- Each event starts on the free plan, which covers up to 150 people. Paid plans raise that limit, at the prices on our pricing section when you pay.
- Per-event plans are a single payment in Nigerian naira. They do not renew, and all features are included on every plan.
- Paystack processes payments under its own terms.
- If your event goes over its limit, you may be unable to send further invitation links until you upgrade. We do not refuse people at the gate because of billing.
- Any subscription or organisation plan is covered by separately agreed terms.
6. Refunds
Proposed, awaiting approval: We will refund a payment in full if you ask within 7 days of paying, as long as the event has not taken place and no invitation link has been sent under the paid plan. We will also refund duplicate payments, and payments for an upgrade we could not apply. Other payments are non-refundable unless the law requires otherwise.
7. At the event
wurinEvents is a tool that helps you and your staff manage entry. It does not replace venue security, crowd control or safety planning. Ushers can override what the system suggests, and it records exceptions such as walk-ins for you to review. You remain responsible for who enters your event and for how it is run.
Scanning can work offline after an usher’s phone has downloaded the event, but that phone needs to be prepared, charged and working. Please test your setup before the day and keep a backup plan.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service reliable, but it may sometimes be interrupted, including by maintenance or by failures at providers we depend on. We may change features over time. If a change materially reduces something you have already paid for, we will tell you and work with you on a fair remedy.
9. Our intellectual property
We own the software, design and branding of wurinEvents. You may use them only as needed to use the service.
10. Suspension and closing an account
You can stop using the service at any time. You can delete an event in its settings, and you can ask us to close your account at [contact email]. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or where the law or a security risk requires it. Where it is safe and lawful, we will warn you first, especially close to an event date.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including rights you hold under Nigerian consumer protection law, or liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Otherwise, the service is provided with reasonable care but without other promises beyond those in these terms. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as lost profit or the costs of an event being disrupted. Our total liability for any event is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for that event and ₦50,000.
You are responsible for claims against us that result from your unlawful use of guest information or your breach of section 3 or 4.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. We will tell account holders about significant changes before they apply. They will not change the price of a plan you have already paid for.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Please contact us first so that we can try to resolve any dispute. If that fails, the Nigerian courts have jurisdiction, without removing any right you have to go to a regulator.
14. Contact
